Polis Chrysochous Baths of Aphrodite

The small town of Polis is located at the north-west end of the island of Cyprus, right at the centre of a beautiful bay and on the edge of the Akamas peninsula nature reserve. An important kingdom in ancient times, it now offers a unique combination of unspoilt sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, a beautiful countryside, a very mild climate and the most hospitable and welcoming people.

The municipality has various options when it comes to civil ceremonies; on the beach, in the town hall or even at the Baths of Aphrodite!

The picturesque Polis square with a variety of tavernas and open-air coffee shops is a meeting place for locals and visitors alike. The small fishing harbour of Latchi is itself another attraction.
Polis is also an ideal base for the exploration of a most interesting surrounding area. Worth mentioning are the Byzantine churches and monasteries of the region, the coastal cliffs towards cape Pomos, the pine and cedar forests of the Paphos Mountains and the vineyards of the Laona area.

However, no visit to the area will be complete unless it includes a day out in the Akamas peninsula nature reserve. An unspoiled land, with a very rich flora and with several walking trails, the Akamas is simply a nature lover’s paradise. A boat trip along the spectacular Akamas coastline is also an experience not to be missed.
